Greetings Clendenin Students and Parents!
Welcome to an exciting year of reading at Clendenin Elementary School!
My name is Mrs. Crystal Acosta and I will be your librarian. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Education from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from The University of North Texas.
Our library houses over 9,000 wonderful resources including easy, fiction, non-fiction, reference, and audio-visual materials, as well as various magazines. Students will begin visiting the library with their class very soon and will continue to do so every two weeks. During these library lessons students will receive instruction on literature appreciation and information literacy skills, as per the district curriculum. Students may also visit library during the day with a teacher pass as well as during Open Library Hours: Monday-Friday 7:45 - 8:00 and 3:25 - 3:45.
Special library programs will include the Texas Bluebonnet Award Program, Read Across the District, as well as hosting the El Paso Public Library and other special visitors, and our Read Across America Celebration.
